Your first visit is done — here's what happens next | Menrva
First practitioner visit — complete

Congratulations. You've met your practitioner.

That was the biggest step. Here's what happens next — and the one thing we need from you before your visit with your functional nutritionist.

Watch first — Dr. Betty Murray walks you through your options in about two minutes.

What happens next

Three steps, in this order

Each one sets up the next. Getting them in order is what makes your nutrition visit worth the hour.

You are here
1

Get your labs in hand

Recent hormone, thyroid and metabolic labs — either ones you already have, or new ones you order below.

2

Meet your functional nutritionist

A full hour, built around your results: what your labs say about your metabolism, and exactly what to change first.

3

Your personalized protocol

Nutrition, supplementation and lifestyle mapped to your numbers — and reviewed with your practitioner as your therapy is tuned.

Why labs first

Your functional nutritionist needs your numbers to personalize the hour

Without recent labs, your nutrition visit becomes general advice. With them, it becomes your plan. Here's exactly what counts as useful — and what to leave out.

What Ellen needs

Drawn within the last 3 months:

  • Sex hormones — estradiol, progesterone, testosterone, DHEA-S, FSH, LH
  • Thyroid — TSH, free T3, free T4, TPO and thyroglobulin antibodies
  • Metabolic markers (nice to have) — fasting glucose, fasting insulin or HbA1c, and a lipid panel

What to leave out — on purpose

Your visit with Ellen is one hour. We want that hour spent on the results that drive your hormone and metabolic plan, not on a records review.

  • Labs older than 3 months (they no longer reflect where you are now)
  • Imaging, pathology and full historical records
  • Unrelated specialty panels

Have something outside this list you're certain matters? Mention it when you book and we'll tell you whether to send it.

Choose your path

Pick the option that fits you

One of these three. It takes a minute now and saves you weeks later.

Option 1 · No cost

I have labs from the last 3 months

$0 · upload today

Upload them to your Menrva patient portal and you're done — nothing to buy.

  • Sex hormone, thyroid or metabolic panels
  • PDF or clear photo both work
  • Ellen reviews before your visit
Not sure your panel covers enough? Upload it anyway — we'll tell you if anything is missing.
Option 3 · Traditional draw

Order labs through LabCorp

$305 · broadest panel

Our broadest panel. Check out below, we place the order, and you visit a LabCorp near you for a fasting blood draw.

  • Full hormone and thyroid panel
  • Plus CMP, insulin, HbA1c, lipids, vitamin D, IGF-1
  • Fasting draw at a LabCorp near you
Not available in New York, New Jersey or Hawaii. In those states we arrange testing through Vibrant Clinical Labs — see below.

Both tests are the same price. Choose the at-home kit if convenience matters most — hormones and thyroid, no draw, no fasting. Choose LabCorp if you want the widest picture, including your metabolic markers.

Live in New York, New Jersey or Hawaii? Reply to your onboarding email — we'll arrange your panel through Vibrant Clinical Labs, using a mobile draw or a local draw center.

Once your labs are ordered or uploaded

Book your hour with Ellen now and choose a date about two to three weeks out, so your results are in your chart before you meet.

Questions

Before you choose

Why does it have to be labs from the last three months?

Hormones and metabolic markers move — especially once therapy has started. Results older than three months describe a version of you that has already changed, and a plan built on them is a plan built on the wrong numbers.

I have years of labs. Can I send them all?

Please don't. Your visit with Ellen is one hour, and we want it spent on your plan rather than on records review. The three panels above — sex hormones, thyroid and metabolic markers — are what shape her recommendations. If something outside that list genuinely matters, tell us when you book and we'll advise.

Which option should I pick?

If you have qualifying labs from the last three months, upload them — that is fastest and costs nothing. If you don't, choose SiPhox for convenience, or LabCorp if you prefer a traditional draw or live in a state SiPhox can't ship to.

How long until results are ready?

The at-home kit returns results in about 7–10 days once your sample reaches the lab — allow a few extra days for shipping each way. A LabCorp draw depends on when you get to a patient service center. Either way, book with Ellen now and pick a date two to three weeks out so your results are waiting for her.

Is this cost included in my program?

No — lab testing is billed separately from your Menrva Complete or Menrva Plus program, at $305. Both options are FSA/HSA eligible.
